Dave Thompson, our guitarist for the past two years is leaving to join a new project. We wish him luck, and, don't be surprised if he plays for us once and awhile!
Our new guitarist is Mike Dudley, Columbus mainstay guitarist, who is on hiatus from his own band. Mike plays with Shaun Booker, so you might have seen him.
I'd like to thank all band members for going through this change WITHOUT DRAMA!!! Very seldom do these things ever work out for the best, but this one did for all parties.
This weekend we will warm up Dudley at Plain City Pub in, where else, Plain City. 9:30 to 2am. That's September 26th.
Next week we will be at Wild Bills on October 1st, and Benny's Pizza, 7:30, on October 2nd. Come out and see us!

A 3 week vacation?? Heaven help Mudflats on August 28th!

Six guys band/personal schedule made it possible to have a 3 week break, but i am really concerned when we return--to Mudflats no less on FRIDAY AUGUST 28TH-- with pent-up chaos and mayhem. Please bring your tazers.
First week of September--Labor Day weekend-- fins us at Wild Bills on Sept. 3rd, Larry B's on September 4th, and the best blues festival in Ohio--St. Marys in Celina on September 5th. We play at 3:30, but by all means get yourself a good spot on the hill. Heading up the two day festival is Little Ed and the Blues Imnperials and The Tommy Castro Band--wow, wow, wow. Come up and see us before, during and afterwards!! The CBA will be there.

Last Weekend--Friday--Very cool-- Saturday -a little wet

Friday at Larry B's was amazingly outstanding. What a great crowd --we enjoyed playing past our quitting time. Thanks--we'll be back there Labor Day Friday.
Saturday we played the great Pickerington Blues Festival--unfortunately we had some sound problems early, and some water problems later. We are usually really lucky with weather and festivals, but it caught up with us Saturday. We played about 5 songs, with the sound going on an off, and when the sky unloaded. Then, when we tried to return, my amp fell off my speakers onto the blacktop, and the power was out again. The rest of the bands had cooperative Ohio weather, but we did not luck out this time. Hope to return there next year.

Last 1/2 weekend of July, 1st one of August Larry B's and Pickerington Blues Fest

Friday night we will be back at Larry B's on Westerville Road. 9pm to 1am. Saturday afternoon we will be at the Pickerington Blues Festival--we play 3:30 to 5:30. There are really a nice cross- section of blues types on display there this year. Come out, please.

Back to Columbus--Friday July 24 Digger & Finch/Saturday July 25th Hummers in Greenville

This Friday night we will be at Digger & Finch in Dublin, 8pm to 11-ish. If weather is bad, we will be inside.
Saturday night we play at Hummer's in Greenville, 9pm to 1am. First time there-- we would really appreciate your support!

Sunday July 19th the famous Jackass Flats in Dayton 2pm to 6pm

We are returning to Jackass Flats this Sunday, July 19th, 2pm to 6pm. We hope to see the 1000's of people who are known to come to this great outdoor and indoor venue.

Next week We are in Columbus at Digger & Finch in Dublin, our only date this year there, 8pm to 11pm. July 25th we travel to Ohio's West Coast to Greenville to play at Hummers, 9pm to 1am.

July 11 Saturday Plain City Pub--who knows what to expect?

PCP is one of the most unpredictable places that we play. You just never know what is going to happen- some of the things we have seen there---incredible. Come on out and be part of this if you are up to it-supposed to rain--if it does, it will be even weirder.

CONGRATS TO LONG TALL DEB- SHE WON MARIETTA CHALLENGE FEB. 21ST-NO GIG FOR US SATURDAY-TWEED BURNED DOWN -WE PLAY AT CULAN THIS SUNDAY

We participated in Marietta's River City Blues Contest Feb. 20-21. We were lucky enough to make it into the finals. There were some great participants from Chicago, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. Long Tall Deb, who had put together a new trio behind her, won the entire contest. Congratulations to her and her group--they will be representing River City at the 2010 International Blues Contest. Paul Miles, an extraordinary soloist, came in second, and will rep the BJFM in 2010. Our friend, Gary Applegate, got 3rd place. Rumor had it we were the 2nd band, but not sure about that yet.

This Saturday, Feb. 28th, we were to play at the Tumbleweed in Dayton--but unfortunately it burned down and it will be quite a while until water damage is taken care of.
This Sunday, March 1st, we have been invited to be in the Cincinnati United Local Artists Network Ceremony and Celebration at the 20th Century Theater in Cincinnati. We play at 5pm and the whole event goes until 11 or 12pm. Here is a link to the show, the schedule, and the great lineup:

We are in studio February 14-15 and at the River City Blues Competition in Marietta February 21st. Please come and support us. Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn are having special 'Blues rates' for this weekend. We play at 3:30pm or earlier on Saturday, February 21st. if we make the finals, they start at 8pm that night.

Backstretch Was Way Fun-Dayton's Tumbleweed was cool-;Now to Thirsty Ear on Sunday the 18tDayton

We had a fantastic time at Backstretch on January 3rd.Tumbleweed in Dayton on January 10th was the best the bar has had for quite awhile, according to Mo--and it was a shitty weather night!! Thanks to the Wright State Contingent and to the Dayton Blues Society.
This week we creep back in to Columbus to host the Thirsty Ear's CBA jam on Sunday, January 18th, 4:30 to 8:30. It is SPOSED to warm up some by then, so we hope to see you. We play a set, followed by 4 or 5 jam sets, and then we play a 1/2 set at the end of the night. See ya!

A New Year's Eve Like No Other!! Thanks to the people and to The Lafayette

150 party people came out to celebrate New Years with us at The Lafayette. We had such a sensational time--. Lots of people came out like members of Damn Right from Columbus. People came from Marion, Columbus, all over. The Lafayette is an elegant place of historical significance, but there was no 'stuffiness' there. All came to have a good time, to dance like maniacs, and they put up with our Code Blue antics all night. Hope to see you all again soon. Here are some pics:
